Mental Skills Coaching
Empowering session designed to help athletes harness the power of their minds to achieve peak performance and overall well-being. This
training will cover essential mental skills that are crucial in sports and life. Mental Skills Training helps teams and athletes gain a competitive edge by incorporating mental training into your routine. Understand how to manage stress effectively when under pressure. Develop the resilience needed to overcome challenges. Learn how to cultivate a growth mindset to become a more coachable athlete and embrace personal growth.
Key Elements that will be explored: Goal Setting, Visualization, Self Talk, Motivation, and Mindfulness.

Integrative Mind-Body Session

Energy field work sessions begin with an intention you choose to focus on. Through gentle techniques such as applied kinesiology, thoughtful questions, and field psychology approaches, these sessions help bring awareness to patterns or internal blocks that may be affecting progress toward your goals.
The process is calm and reflective, supporting the safe movement of subconscious patterns into conscious awareness. By increasing understanding and making intentional shifts, many people experience greater clarity, alignment, and ease in moving forward in their lives.
Mental Skills Coaching
Goal Setting, Visualization, Self Talk, Motivation, & Mindfulness
Mental skills sessions focus on developing the mindset, tools, and self-awareness needed to perform well, manage pressure, and navigate challenges both in sport and in everyday life. Sessions are tailored to the individual. They may include goal setting, emotional regulation, confidence building, focus and attention strategies, visualization, self-talk, and values-based decision making.
Through guided reflection and practical exercises, clients learn how to better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and how to respond to challenges with intention rather than reaction. Mental skills work supports resilience, motivation, and personal growth, helping individuals build habits that translate into improved performance, well-being, and enjoyment in the sport and life.
Best to be in completed in at least a three session pkg.

Personal growth sessions offer a supportive space to explore life’s challenges and navigate periods of change. Through open conversation and guided reflection, these sessions focus on strengthening relationships with yourself and others, gaining clarity during life transitions, and developing practical tools to manage emotions, stress, and interpersonal challenges.
Support is grounded in evidence-informed approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, self-compassion practices, and existential exploration. Together, these approaches encourage growth, resilience, and meaningful change.

How can I be of service?
This work is grounded in cultivating hope, resilience, and a growth-oriented mindset. By clarifying values and purpose, practical tools can be learned to navigate stress, uncertainty, and life’s challenges with greater confidence and clarity.
Support is informed by a range of evidence-based approaches, including existential exploration, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness practices, self-compassion, and strength-based cognitive behavioural strategies. These approaches help build self-awareness, address root causes, and strengthen resilience.
My experience includes working with youth and adults across educational, professional, and team-based settings. Mental skills training, coaching and counselling techniques, field psychology principles, and life coaching tools are integrated to ensure support is tailored to individuals, families, and teams.
Person-centered play therapy is being thoughtfully incorporated into practice for individuals of all ages through ongoing practicum training and supervision with Kristen Klassen at PlayWell Therapy. This approach supports expression, connection, and healing in developmentally appropriate and relationship-based ways.
Multiple pathways of support are available to help individuals and teams move toward a more balanced, meaningful, and joy-filled life.
I completed my Master’s degree in Guidance and Counselling at Brandon University in February 2026, and my practicum training to become a Certified Canadian Counsellor is currently being completed with PlayWell Therapy.
Counselling sessions with Shannon may be booked directly or online through PlayWell Therapy. Since I am a practicum student sessions are at a reduced cost.
